More information is emerging concerning the legal troubles of ‘Dark Knight" star Christian Bale. The current incarnation of Batman was arrested and grilled for four hours on suspicion of assault and then was released without being charged. Authorities will determine whether charges will be pressed at the end of their inquiry, and have asked Bale to return in September to hear any formal accusations. Bale has denied allegations by his mother and sister that he assaulted them and he is cooperating with authorities, Bale’s publicists said Tuesday. They also say that he has not been charged with any crime. Bale evidently turned himself in at a police station in London after he allegedly assaulted his mother and sister in the days before. Both his mother and sister released statements saying that there was a "situation", but the police are dealing with it, with his mother adding that they did not call the police.

Has constant touring, adopting children, lifting weights, making movies for the Cannes Film Festival, counseling star baseball players during divorce crisis and keeping up appearances of a marriage finally taken it’s toll on Madonna? She is reportedly suffering from anemia as well as a knee injury, which one can certainly believe, as she is a 50-year old woman who has been looking gaunt for years now. Yet somehow, she wants people to believe that she’s "looks" thirty. Yeah, 20 years ago.

NBC imposed a mandatory retirement date on Jay Leno’s tenure as the host of the "Tonight Show," which was set as they released their new fall schedule, May 29th of ‘09. Conan O’ Brien will take over the reins on June 1st. Saturday Night Live alum Jimmy Fallon will in turn take over the "Late Night" slot vacated by O’Brien sometime next spring. It is said that Leno, who has yet to comment on the network-imposed time frame, may be possibly taking his services, and hopefully his audience, to ABC. This will end what will be a 17-year run for Leno as host of the "Tonight Show."

Reports are emerging that Nick Cannon is falling into debt because he is basically spending money that he doesn’t really have on his new wife because he doesn’t want to seem like he’s a "kept" man. This is very contrary for a star of a movie entitled: Love Don’t Cost a Thing. We guess real life is much different than the movies and keeping up appearances is very important to "Mr. Carey."

Tori Spelling’s first book, sTori Telling(get it?) was apparently so popular that she’s penning another page turner, tentatively titled "Mommywood" that will talk about her life as a mother. The former and future 90210 star and daughter of the late television guru, Aaron Spelling, is currently seen on the reality show, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,   The book, which delves deeper into Spelling’s parenting experiences than the television show, is scheduled for an April 2009 release.

Actress turned country music singer Jessica Simpson made her performance debut over the weekend at the Country Thunder concert series in Wisconsin to boos and bad reviews. Although she had some supporters in the audience, local news reports recorded some real negative comments about the heart-throb from concert-goers. Speculation is ruuning rampant that the crowd included some Dallas Cowboy fans with mixed feelings about Simpson’s romance with QB Tony Romo.

Actor Verne Troyer, star of the under-performing comedy "The Love Guru" and most famous for his portrayal of "Mini Me" in the Austin Powers movie franchise, has settled with Kevin Blatt, the man who was poised to market a sex tape of Troyer made by Troyer’s former girlfriend. Blatt now says that he will not sell the video without Troyer’s permission. According to reports, Troyer’s legal team has said that consent may be granted when "The Love Guru" accumulates $100 million in box office. Needless to say, with current receipts for the fim at $32 million, the release is far from likely.

Pop culture icon Britney Spears has agreed to officially give up custody of her two sons, aged 2 1/2 and 1 1/2, to her ex, Kevin Federline, avoiding a scheduled upcoming custody trial. Under the agreement Spears increases her visitation rights. She is currently allowed two visits and one overnight per week. Under the new deal she’ll get three nights with two overnights. This ends an ordeal which began with the parents having 50-50 custody in July 2007, then eventually Federline temporarily gaining full custody because of numerous bizarre incidents involving Spears, including being forcibly hospitalized twice this year for mental health issues. A judge can always modify custody settlements however, which is evident because it seems Spears was able to get the chance to modify her parental rights every two weeks.
